OES, in coordination with the Town of Truckee, will host a similar virtual event with a focus on Eastern Nevada County residents soon.

OES Program Manager Paul Cummings explained, “While coronavirus provides an element of complexity, it shouldn’t stop us from doing our part to get ready for wildfire season. The threat of wildfire will be here regardless of what phase of reopening we are in.“

Participants are invited to register for the event at: and to send their questions to in advance.

YubaNet’s editor, Pascale Fusshoeller will be moderating the event. She says, “NorthOps Predictive Services is forecasting an above normal potential for large fires in our area starting in late June.
