Nevada City, CA – To reduce illegal dumping in Nevada County, residents can dispose of up to nine tires at no cost at select locations during the week of Oct. 19-31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various locations throughout Nevada County – see below for locations and dates. This event is sponsored by Nevada County, Waste Management, the Bureau of Land Management’s California State Office and Mother Lode Field Office, and the Tahoe National Forest. What kind of tires can I bring?
Normal car tires without rims are accepted. Commercial tires, tractor tires, and tires with rims will not be accepted. Tires are not accepted from businesses. If you have more than nine tires, please contact the Nevada County Department of Environmental Health at (530) 265-1222, Option 3, to request an exemption.

Have more than nine tires?
Individuals who wish to dispose of more than nine tires must request an exemption letter from the Nevada County Department of Environmental Health by calling (530) 265-1222, Option 3.
