June 25, 2018 – Nevada County is holding a community meeting to provide an opportunity for public input on a proposed ordinance that would ban open fires along the South Yuba River Wild&Scenic Designated Corridor to help prevent threats of wildfire.

The public meeting is open to all interested community members.

Background

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors is considering adopting an Urgency Ordinance to ban open fires 1/4 mile on each side of the Yuba River with some exceptions (i.e. organized campgrounds and private contained grills) from Memorial Day to the end of the declared Fire Season.

The County is seeking input from community members on the proposed ordinance.
