April 21, 2020 – Nevada County Transit Services is pleased to announce the start-up of On-Demand Dial-a-Ride service for seniors 65 and over on Gold Country Lift, effective Wednesday April 22, 2020.

Senior Dial-a-Ride service will be available to Western Nevada County residents during the same days, hours and service area as the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit service provided by Gold Country Lift; typically, Monday –Friday 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM. The cost per one-way trip is $4.00. Please note that during the current COVID-19 shelter-in-place we are operating reduced service hours for the safety of our Community.

Eligibility for the service is simply an identification which verifies age of 65 or older, including: State issued driver’s license or ID card, Gold Country Stage Senior Discount Fare ID card and Medi-care ID card.

To request a ride, participants will need to call Gold Country Lift at 530-271-RIDE (7433). Rides may be requested for the same day, but all Senior Dial-a-Ride trips will be provided on an available capacity basis only with ADA mandated trips taking priority. For first time trips, passengers must have their proof of age available, and must complete a simple one-page application which will be given to the driver at the time of pick-up.
