Truckee, Calif. January 11, 2017 – Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) is responding to power outages caused by the recent blizzard. As communicated earlier, TDPUD lost transmission power from NV Energy to the entire district on Tuesday evening and all customers lost power. Crews responded and restored transmission power to TDPUD a little before noon at which time TDPUD began to restore power to customers.
Although the main system power is restored, there will still be isolated outages due mostly to falling trees on TDPUD’s distribution system and on secondary power lines feeding individual homes. If anyone sees downed power lines (or trees on power lines), stay away from the lines and call TDPUD immediately at 530-587-3896 to report the problem.
Please be aware that the significant amount of snow continues to make it very difficult for TDPUD crews, and all emergency responders, to travel around town and effect repairs. If possible, please stay home and keep safe.
