Starting November 1st, the annual collection drive for warm coats, hats, gloves, and socks is being held by United Way of Nevada County for those in our community who need them the most. Donate these much-needed items so that others in our community can stay warm this winter. The majority of those in need are families with children who are just struggling to get by. This collection drive will help these households and individuals stay warm during the upcoming winter months.
From November 1st through December 15th, new and slightly used warm coats, hats, gloves, and socks can be dropped off at the following locations:
B & C Ace Home and Garden Center, Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty, Grass Valley Training Zone, Hills Flat Lumber, Law Office of Beau Mayfield, all 6 Nevada County Government offices, Penn Valley True Value Hardware, Sierra Nevada Children’s Services, South Yuba Club, SPD Market (Grass Valley and Nevada City locations), Telestream, Tri-Counties Bank (Grass Valley and Nevada City locations), and Westamerica Bank.
Clothing will be given out to organizations that work directly with clients in need of warm clothing and to local residents at the United Way of Nevada County offices at our shopping sprees on Friday, November 17, December 8 and December 22.
United Way of Nevada County is working with local non-profit organizations to ensure that the basic needs of all our community members, specifically food, clothing, and access to health care, are met. United Way of Nevada County envisions a community where all individuals and families achieve their desired potential through healthy lives, education, and income stability.
