Nevada City, Calif. June 14, 2017 – Last night at 10:20 pm, fire units responded for a reported residential structure fire with extension into the wildland on the 16000 block of Benedict Lane off Red Dog Road.
The first arriving engine reported a 900 sq ft residence that was fully involved.
The home was unoccupied at the time of fire and was a total loss.
Crews were able to quickly contain the 10×10 area of vegetation and remained at scene approximately 3 hours with overhaul.
There were no reported injuries and the fire cause is under investigation.
Nevada County Consolidated units Engines 1, 84, 86, 5482, Tender 88, Chief 5100 and Battalion 1 were assisted by Ophir Hill, Cal-Fire and NCSO. All units were released by 1:30 am.
