NEVADA CITY Calif. November 19, 2018 – With 52,832 votes now tabulated, Nevada County voter turnout stands at 76.71%.
Shannan Moon is the winner in the race for Sheriff with 28,107 votes 57.83% vs Bill Smethers’ 20,498 votes (42.17%)
In the Grass Valley City Council race, Hilary Hodge maintains her lead with 2,737 votes (36.85%) with Ben Aguilar in second place with 2,308 votes (31.08%) Bob Branstrom has 1,670 votes (22.49%). The two top vote-getters will be seated on the City Council.
Truckee Town Council race has Anna Klovstad in the lead with 3,908 votes (21.98%), followed by Morgan Goodwin 2,665 votes (14.99%), David Polivy 2,516 votes (14.15%), Chelsea Walterscheid 2,496 votes (14.04%), Richard Ludke 2,363 votes (13.29%), Carmen Carr 2,129 votes (11.98%) and Suzie Tarnay 1,700 votes (9.56%). The three top vote-getters will be seated on the City Council.
NID District 2 race appears decided with 6,122 votes (68.51%) for Chris Bierwagen and 2,814 votes (31.49%) for Bruce Herring.
