Grass Valley, CA – Star Louise Lemas, 30, of Grass Valley was arrested on Feb. 8 after Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies found her in receipt of stolen property – Penal Code 496(A).
This incident began when a local man returned home to his residence on Feb. 6 on the 16000 block of Brewer Rd. in Grass Valley, after an extended period away, only to find his home had been burglarized at some point with several items stolen, including multiple firearms. Deputies began investigating the incident and as part of this process, they conducted a neighborhood canvass on Feb. 8 for potential witnesses, available surveillance footage in the area, and potential related evidence. While conversing with one neighbor in the vicinity, identified as Lemas, a vigilant deputy observed several items on the property in plain view that matched the description of the victim’s stolen property.
Deputies worked in conjunction with NCSO detectives who sought and received a same-day search warrant for the residence and property. Several items stolen from the victim were recovered. Lemas was arrested without incident.
