The Nevada County Transportation Commission (NCTC) and the City of Nevada City are hosting the first in a series of community workshops on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, to discuss the planning effort currently underway to develop a Pedestrian and Bicycle Mobility Plan for the Zion Street/Sacramento Street Corridor. Limits of the project scope are from the intersection of Ridge Road/Nevada City Highway/Zion Street to the Sacramento Street/South Pine Street intersection. This initiative aims to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety, mobility, and access to schools along the Zion Street/Sacramento Street corridor, including connections to Deer Creek Elementary, Seven Hills Middle School, and Forest Charter School.
We invite community members to share their experiences about traveling on the Zion Street and Sacramento Street corridor. Your feedback is crucial in shaping effective transportation solutions that meet the needs of our community. The workshop will focus on asking community members:
- What aspects of walking and biking in Nevada City do you cherish the most?
- What elements are currently lacking to encourage walking and biking?
- What changes would you envision for your transportation network?

The workshop (an โOpen Houseโ style event) will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Charter School Multipurpose Room. We look forward to your participation and valuable input!
