February 22, 2019 – As the Town works to keep the roads clear of snow, we request that you help by parking only in areas where your vehicle will not interfere with snow removal operations. Roadside parking is prohibited between November 1 and April 30 (Muni. Code 10.17.030).
The Town’s street rights-of-way and snow storage easements extend 20 to 40 feet from the centerline of the road toward a property and vary based on property locations. While it can be hard to measure that distance, the best advice is to park as close to your house as possible while in your driveway.
It is likely that the first half of your driveway is in the Town’s snow removal right of way. Vehicles parked in Town rights-of-way will likely be adversely affected by snow removal operations, and the Town is not responsible for damage to those vehicles.
These photos show one predicament which can arise from improper winter parking in Town rights-of-way.
