Grass Valley, CA –Hospice of the Foothills held its 11th annual Dame Cicely Saunders Awards on Thursday, May 30th. Named in honor of the founder of the modern hospice movement, this award recognizes exceptional contributions to hospice care and commitment to the values of compassion, dignity, and support for patients and their families.

Recipients of these awards have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Hospice of the Foothills’ programs and services through significant philanthropic support and service. Honorees included Drs. Denis and Barbara Drew received the Individual Award; Pawnee’s Home Care (Melissa Jamison and Kristen Bardwell) received the Community Partner Award; Sandy Blake received another Individual Award; and Karen Boyd-Sheehan, RN, received the Clinical Care Award.
