The September 2nd Saturday Spotlight is on Dori Greenbaum who will demonstrate Travel Journaling techniques showing you how to transform your favorite travel memories by re-composing photos and using pen & ink & color washes. Participants should bring a couple of their their own photos to learn how to create a grouping of memories.

From her earliest days, Dori had a passion for art, taking every art class available in school, and minoring in art in college. She was a graphic designer and printing broker for 35 years until, after moving to Grass Valley in 2005 she retired and found new energy for the watercolor medium. After joining Pioneer Arts she gained confidence showing and selling her work and teaching in her home studio.
Dori has been a member of Art Works Gallery for 12 years. She has a permanent studio at AsIf Artist Studios where she paints and teaches and enjoys the collegiality of the other working artists.
“Watercolor intrigues me! It evokes calm or excitement, moodiness and beauty. I love the freshness and spontaneity. My favorite subjects are big landscapes, close up flowers and other natural scenes.”

Her demonstration will take place from 1p.m. to 4p.m. on Saturday, August 14. You can find her original paintings, prints and cards at Artworks Gallery and AsIf Studios. You can also find her greeting cards at Briar Patch in Grass Valley and Auburn.
Art Works Gallery Co-0p exhibits a high quality collection of artwork from local artists featuring furniture, paintings, photography, ceramics, fiber arts, wood-working, glass, sculptures and mixed-media, and is an award winning artist’s co-operative voted Best Art Gallery by The Union readers for the past six years.
