Truckee, CA – The public is invited to attend a meeting Thursday, Feb. 6 about Hope Ridge House, a new permanent supportive housing asset for those experiencing homelessness or near homelessness.

The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the Truckee Town Council Chambers, 10183 Truckee Airport Road and will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/@CountyofNevadaCA/streams. Spanish translation will be provided. This is an opportunity to learn more about Hope Ridge House from Nevada County and community partners.

“Hope Ridge House represents an opportunity for the most vulnerable in our community to live safely and ensures that Truckee remains a community that includes people of all income levels and backgrounds,” said Supervisor Hardy Bullock. “A recent study identified a need for 44 permanent supportive housing beds in our area. With only 13 beds available in Placer County and none currently available in the Truckee area of Nevada County, this project helps close that gap.”

The home, located in the Armstrong neighborhood, is operated by AMI Housing and Nevada County. Future residents will be local, with ties to the community, and will sign leases and pay rent. Staff will be on site offering life skill coaching and linkage to mental health, employment, disability and other services.

On Jan. 14, the Board of Supervisors voted to apply for a grant to purchase the home. To apply for the grant, the County must have “site control” of the property. The County has entered a lease in hopes of providing permanent supportive housing to those in need.
