The meetings will provide a complete update regarding consolidation of the two fire districts. The public is encouraged to attend to learn about your fire district, how fire districts are funded, and how enhanced services benefit you and the community.
Rough & Ready Fire Protection District and Penn Valley Fire Protection District are currently applying to Nevada County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) for Consolidation in a move that will keep Station 59 open to serve the community. Upon consolidation, the two joined districts will operate under the name of Penn Valley Fire Protection District and continue to provide enhanced Advanced Life Support (ALS) services.
