Nevada City Calif. โ€“ Monday, Oct. 19 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election.

Registering by the deadline helps ensure a more convenient voting experience. Those who miss the deadline may still vote through same-day registration (conditional voter registration) at a vote center, but this process requires additional review steps.

โ€œRegistering early saves time, helps avoid last-minute complications and gives voters one less thing to worry about as Election Day approaches,โ€ said Registrar of Voters Armando Salud-Ambriz.

Students ages 16-17 are encouraged to pre-register to vote so that their registration will automatically become active when they turn 18. Young people who turn 18 on or before Election Day, Nov. 3, are eligible to vote in the General Election, including those celebrating their 18th birthday that day.

Register online at registertovote.ca.gov. Check voter registration status at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. Voting is underway now. Ballots were mailed Oct. 5 to all registered voters and may be returned immediately. For Nevada County vote center locations, visit www.NevadaCountyCa.gov/votehere or www.NevadaCountyCa.gov/votemap.
