GRASS VALLEY, Calif. March 5, 2024 – The traditional St. Piran’s Day Pasty Toss in Grass Valley honoring their Cornish connection took place today. Grass Valley city leaders and civil servants were on hand to challenge their Nevada City counterparts for a friendly Pasty Tossing competition. Nevada City won this year’s competition.
The Cornish Town Crier (aka KNCO’s Paul Haas) and the Cornish Male Choir provided festive ambiance. All the pups on Mill Street Plaza enjoyed clean up duty. (Pasties made for tossing are prepared with pet-friendly ingredients.)
