On April 26th, 4-H members from Nevada and Placer Counties gathered at Chicago Park School in Grass Valley for the annual 4-H Bi-County Fashion Revue. This event gave youth the opportunity to model and present garments they had sewn, crafted, or purchased. Participants showcased their outfits in a fashion show that celebrated their creativity and personal style.

4-H Members Shine at Annual Bi-County Fashion Revue

The 4-H Fashion Revue is designed to foster appreciation for clothing construction, textiles, consumer science, and personal development. It also promotes self-esteem through individual expression and creativity, while providing valuable opportunities for youth to strengthen their leadership and communication skills.

Volunteer evaluators offered feedback and determined placings, with qualifying youth earning the chance to advance to the California State 4-H Fashion Revue, held May 17th at U.C. Davis during the 2025 California State 4-H Field Day. This yearโ€™s adult volunteer evaluators, many of whom participated in Fashion Revue when they were 4-H members, were the following: Sarah Bahrman, Dale Baker, Debbie Bierwagen, Michelle Davis, Jennifer Miller, Linda Miller, Star Parker, and Sarah Wessels.

The California 4-H Youth Development Program offers young people a wide range of opportunities to explore their interests and discover their โ€œsparks.โ€ Youth can engage in projects related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), expressive arts, foods and nutrition, sports, leadership, citizenship, and service learning. These projects are led by screened and trained adult volunteers who generously share their time and expertise with 4-H members.
