GRASS VALLEY, Calif. May 1, 2017 – The 49er Breakfast Rotary Club of Nevada City celebrated International Rotarians at Work Day on Saturday (Apr. 29) with a community service work party at the historic North Star House in Grass Valley.

More than 50 Rotarians, family members, friends and members of the Nevada Union High School Interact Club took part in the event.

Rotarian Andy Wright rakes new pathway

The volunteers built a new pergola and building enclosure, installed solar panels and laid a new walking path.  Parking barriers were assembled and painted and a weed eating crew trimmed the grounds.

North Star Historic Conservancy President Larry Dulmage and Grass Valley Mayor Howard Levine took part in the day’s activities and recognized Rotary in remarks at a luncheon following the work party.

The 49er Breakfast Rotary Club of Nevada City is involved in numerous community service projects.

In a global effort, the club joins Rotary clubs from around the world each year to mark International Rotarians at Work Day.
