GRASS VALLEY, Calif. January 28, 2020 – Much to the community’s consternation, the apparent theft of a container with all the tools for Gold Country Community Services’ Senior Wood program was reported last week.

Now, a good news update to the story. The container, usually stored in a PG&E yard in Grass Valley, was picked up by mistake. Instead of a PG&E-owned container, the GCCS box was loaded on a truck and taken to destination unknown.

After the mix-up was discovered, the container was returned to the yard and the correct box is now on the way. GCCS member Jerry Westphal said that contrary to a rumor, their container wasn’t found in SoCal. All the equipment, including the new tools donated by the county, are back where they belong.
