January 26, 2017 – On January 26th, 2017 at approx. 10:00am, deputies from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a robbery at the Tri-Counties bank located on Combie Rd. in Southern Nevada County. Employees at the bank reported a single male adult entered the bank wearing a ski mask and a hooded jacket producing a note to the teller demanding money. The subject took money from the bank however, that amount will not be disclosed.
No weapon was produced and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Area schools were notified of the incident and asked to “shelter in place” temporarily while the Sheriff’s Office investigated. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the bank and took over the investigation.
After an extensive area check that involved law enforcement officers from local and surrounding agencies, the suspect was not located and remains at large at this time.
