October 11, 2019 – On September 19, 2019, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office responded to a business in the 13000 block of Grass Valley Avenue, up near the airport. The reporting party advised her purse (filled with personal items) had been stolen from inside the business. After reviewing surveillance footage, she noticed an unknown white male had entered the business, looked around for a few seconds, and then stole the purse. The suspect was then seen running away from the business toward a white-colored, four-door Chevy Lumina sedan which he entered and fled the area.
NCSO staff viewed the video surveillance and recognized the male subject as Anthony Brock (9/27/1982). NCSO staff also recognized the vehicle seen fleeing the area as a vehicle Brock had been associated with numerous times in the past.
On 10/10/2019, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office patrol staff and the Nevada County Sheriffs’ Office Special Investigations Unit conducted a probation search at Brock’s residence, located in the 12000 block of Greenhorn Road. Detectives located the vehicle seen in video footage during the burglary, the clothing worn by Brock during the incident, several pieces of stolen property, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Mr. Brock and booked him into the jail for burglary, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of his probation terms.
During our search, detectives located numerous pieces of suspected stolen property and evidence of mail theft from potentially unreported incidents. If anyone has information regarding thefts in the Greenhorn Road area they are encouraged to call the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit 530-265-1263.
