Butte County October 7, 2016 – CAL FIRE law enforcement officers arrested Shannon Lian Davis today on suspicion of starting a wildfire in Butte County. Davis, 27, of Oroville is suspected of setting several fires on Thursday, October 6th that burned one half of an acre in the Wheelock Rd. /Highway 70 area. The fires were reported to CAL FIRE’s Oroville Emergency Command Center at 12:47 p.m.
Davis was booked into Butte County Jail on one count of arson and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Her bail is set at $100,000.
Davis is also a suspect in two additional fires and one attempted fire which occurred on Wednesday, October 5th.
The CHP and Butte County Sherriff’s Office assisted CAL FIRE investigators in making the arrest.
As conditions across the north state remain dry, CAL FIRE continues to urge the public to be vigilant outdoors and report any suspicious activity.
