April 1, 2019 – Indivisible Women of Nevada County will present a Climate Action Forum on Saturday, April 13th from 1-4 at the Grass Valley Veterans Hall (Doors open at 12:30. $10.00 Suggested Donation.).
All are welcome to attend this powerful event that will feature keynote speaker Kate Gordon, nationally recognized expert on the intersection of climate change, energy, and economic development. Her recent appointment by Governor Newsom as the Director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research and his senior advisor on climate makes this event especially important to anyone with an interest in climate change.
In addition, Malaika Bishop will speak on Agriculture and Carbon Sequestration; Elizabeth Berger, Deputy Forest Supervisor for the Tahoe National Forest, and Rachel Hutchison, River Science Director at SYRCL, will speak on Forest and Watershed health. Shelly Covert of the Nisenan Tribe of the Nevada City Rancheria will discuss the Tribe’s involvement with both the watershed and forest restoration. Caleb Dardick will present information on the Green New Deal. Kipchoge Spencer will talk about the Sunrise Movement. Other topics include: Green Innovations, Green Energy, and Climate Justice.
