June 30, 2017 – On June 29, 2017, the County received a resignation from Mr. Matthew Shapero that he can longer serve on the Community Advisory Group (CAG) as he accepted employment in Southern California and will be relocating. The County thanks Mr. Shapero for his service on the CAG and wishes him well on his future endeavors. As Mr. Shapero served the CAG as both an appointed Agricultural Interest and as a member of the Agricultural Advisory Commission, the County and MIG desires to maintain that interest on CAG.

The Board will consider a replacement for this CAG position at the July 11, 2017 Board of Supervisors meeting.

The County has posted the notice of vacancy today:

COMMUNITY ADVISORY GROUP:
(1 vacancy) The purpose of the CAG is to provide advice and input on the development of an updated ordinance to regulate cannabis activities in Nevada County. Members serve in an advisory capacity, gather input from the Community and provide recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding long term regulations of cannabis activities. Members are required to complete a Form 700 Statement of Economic Interest showing there is no legal conflict of interest which prevents the member from serving on the Community Advisory Group. Applicant should be available to attend meetings scheduled on Tuesday afternoons during a period covering late May 2017 to October 2017. Consistent attendance is critical.

Applicant must be a Nevada County resident and represent an agricultural interest (i.e. serve on Agricultural Advisory Commission, Farm Bureau, or an active, and professional involvement in the Agricultural Industry) in the County.
