Rocklin, Calif. Sept 2018 – On Tuesday, October 2 at the Dietrich Theatre on the Rocklin Campus and Wednesday, October 3 in N12 at the Nevada County Campus beginning at 7 pm, Laci Green will present Consent in a Coercion Culture. Laci Green is an American YouTube vlogger sensation, public sex educator and feminist activist. She has hosted online sex education content on behalf of Planned Parenthood and Discovery News. Green’s YouTube channel, SexPlus has more than one million subscribers. “People often think of sexual coercion as something that is violent or physically restraining, when the reality is that sexual coercion is something much more subtle.” Laci said, “The perpetrator will use pressure, manipulation, drugs, or alcohol to initiate sexual contact without permission.”
About our Presenter:
Laci Green is an alumnus of Sierra College and graduate of UC Berkley. She majored in legal studies with an emphasis on sexual assault prevention policy. She developed her YouTube channel in response to what she saw as a nationwide failure to provide comprehensive sex education and adopt realistic attitudes about sexuality. Green’s work includes videos, blogging, a robust university lecture series and community activism. Since 2015, Laci has worked with over 100 universities, conferences, military groups and government offices on sexual health and sexual violence prevention efforts. She also works with MTV as the host of their first original YouTube channel, MTV Braless, in addition to producing videos for Planned Parenthood.
