November 22, 2016 – Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department received call for a residential structure fire today at 10:05 am. The reporting party advised smoke emitting from the gable vents in a residence on the 21000 block of Clivus Drive.

First fire units at scene reported heavy smoke conditions showing from a single story residence. The source was found to be a heating unit well involved in fire.

The fire was contained to the area of origin. The living areas of the residence sustained smoke damage.

No injuries were reported and the residents were not at home at the time of the fire. Fire cause appears to be equipment malfunction.

Chief 5102, Engine 88, Engine 89, Engine 1 were assisted by Higgins Fire Engine 21 and Engine 23. All units were released at 11:34 am.
