April 30, 2021 – High pressure over California will allow for continued above normal temperatures again this afternoon. A dry system will approach northern California late Saturday or early Sunday, and bring with it gusty north to east winds.

A combination of the unseasonably dry soils/vegetation, breezy winds, and low relative humidity values will result in increasing fire weather concerns – with the potential for critical fire weather conditions – particularly along the western side of the Sacramento Valley.

Consequently a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the Sacramento and northern San Joaquin Valleys from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.

While temperatures will cool slightly during the weekend, temperatures are still forecast to remain above normal. Some Valley communities may approach the mid 90s by middle next week.
