Grass Valley, California – April 2,, 2024 – The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools TUPE Program (Tobacco Use Prevention Education) is pleased to announce a special free screening of the highly acclaimed documentary “Screenagers: Under the Influence” on April 17, 2024. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Dr. Delaney Ruston, “Screenagers: Under the Influence” is geared towards parents and their 6th-12th graders.
Screenagers Under The Influence: Addressing Vaping, Drugs, and Alcohol in the Digital Age delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. The film debunks myths and depicts strategies parents and schools can use to encourage healthy decision-making, support teen mental health, set limits, and create healthy home environments. The film also includes many ways young people are using their wisdom and strength to help each other and themselves through this complicated terrain around substance use.
The screening will take place at the Del Oro Theater located at 165 Mill St. in Grass Valley at 7:00 p.m. As a special treat, attendees will receive complimentary popcorn and a drink to enjoy during the screening.
