March 28, 2019 – On Wednesday, March 27th, at around 1:00 in the afternoon, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an armed, home-invasion robbery had just occurred in the 14000 block of Rodeo Way in the unincorporated area of Grass Valley. An elderly woman was home alone when two masked suspects armed with a handgun entered the residence. The suspects bound the victim and proceeded to steal items from the residence. After the suspects fled the scene, the victim was able to go to her neighbors’ residence and seek help. The victim did not sustain any injuries during the robbery.
The patrol division and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to process the scene. The victim could only describe the suspects as males wearing masks. At present, we do not believe this was a random occurrence, but we are withholding further information to protect the integrity of the investigation.
