May 8, 2017 – On May 7th, 2017 at approximately 10:40 PM, Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of Lost Lake Road located in Grass Valley, regarding a home invasion robbery.
Once on scene, deputies learned approximately 15 minutes prior to the victims calling 911, the homeowners were preparing for bed and their dog began barking. As the male victim went to investigate, he saw two subjects believed both to be males enter their bedroom. The victim stated that one suspect was armed with a metal pipe and the second suspect was armed with some type of compact firearm. The first suspect was described as wearing a motorcycle style helmet and the second was described as wearing a partial facemask.
At this point, both victims were ordered to the ground, when the victims did not react immediately to the suspect’s commands they were both struck by the suspect armed with the metal pipe. The suspects then ransacked the bedroom and living room area of the residence. The suspects fled the residence and made off with small electronics, cash and jewelry.
Due to their injuries the victims were taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, and later released.
An extensive and thorough area check was conducted for the suspects, but they were not located. Both suspects remain at large at this time.
