Grass Valley, CA – July 3, 2024:  Due to the forecast of extreme heat expected on Saturday, July 6, InConcert Sierra is canceling the Sierra Master Chorale fundraising event “Sip ‘n Song,” which was scheduled to take place at Pioneer Park at 5 p.m.

This is the second cancellation this year for the Sierra Master Chorale. In May, the Sierra Master Chorale and Orchestra concerts were cancelled due to a Covid outbreak. One day prior to the concerts, eight positive cases were reported. By the time of the concerts, over one-third of the chorale members, a few orchestra members, and the choral director had all tested positive for Covid, with some being quite sick. The concerts were rescheduled for one performance on June 23.

“We are all disappointed to have to cancel, this time due to heat. However, the safety and comfort of our patrons, performers, and staff are our highest priorities. We are committed to rescheduling the event and will announce the new date as soon as possible,” said Julie Hardin, Executive Director.

InConcert Sierra is grateful for the continued support and understanding of its community. Please stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled “Sip ‘n Song” event.
