GRASS VALLEY, California. Jesse White, a Third-generation Nevada County resident, property owner and professional pilot, today announced his candidacy for the Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Board of Directors, Division 1, in the November 3, 2026 election. White is running on a platform of reliable water, responsible rates, and honest, transparent management of the district.

“Our water district should answer to ratepayers, not politics,” White said. “I am running to keep politics off the NID board, keep our water reliable, and protect families, seniors, and local farms from unnecessary rate increases.”

White’s family has called Nevada County home for four generations. He and his wife, Katherine, married for 21 years, are raising their children and are proud to call this beautiful area home. Protecting the district’s water, resources, and quality of life for future generations is at the heart of his campaign, including safeguarding NID’s reservoirs, treated and untreated water, hydroelectric power, and recreation.

Professionally, White serves as Chief Pilot at Pacific Jet Charter and is a certified flight instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics with a minor in Aviation Safety, and has owned and operated businesses in the automotive, recycling, and property management industries, experience he says gives him a practical grasp of budgets, infrastructure, and the real cost of rising rates on working families and local agriculture. A 4-H adult volunteer leader, White said service to the community is already part of who he is.

On the board, White said he will focus on fiscal responsibility, honest management, and protecting ratepayers, while making sure the district is prepared for dry years and wildfire seasons ahead. “I respectfully ask for the community’s vote so I can continue to build trust, accountability, and value in the Nevada Irrigation District,” he said.
