October 10, 2019 – The power may be out, but the water continues to flow. The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) is prepared and able to treat and deliver water to its customers during widespread power outages throughout many counties, including Nevada and Placer.

NID has backup power and redundancies throughout its water treatment and delivery systems, so water service is not expected to be disrupted during any PG&E power outages.

PG&E activated its Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) protocols early Wednesday in expectation of extreme fire danger conditions.

In advance of the outages, NID has made investments to ensure that during the times of disruption, the District continues to be connected and securely operating. It’s our commitment as a trustworthy utility to be here for our customers around the clock.

NID will provide updates on our website.
