KVMR’s Future of Journalism: Youth News Corps is heading into its third year.  The program is open to Nevada County teens ages 15-18 who are interested in journalism, radio, storytelling, writing, and/or communications.  During  the after-school program, Youth News Corps reporters will work with professional journalists and learn how to research, report, write, edit and produce their own pieces of radio journalism.  โ€œWe’re excited to be able to pay our Youth News Corps reporters for their work.  They’ll earn $450 for their completed radio series,โ€ says Youth News Corps Director Kelley Rees.

โ€œWho better to tell the story of our future than those most affected by it?  KVMR is uniquely positioned to be a pipeline for young journalists to document their stories as they navigate unprecedented change,โ€ says KVMR General Manager Ali Lightfoot.
