NEVADA CITY, Calif. March 15, 2017 – Congressman Doug LaMalfa’s town hall this Saturday, March 18, will be held in the Main Street Building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The building can accommodate 1,500 people and everyone is welcome,  a spokesman for the Representative told YubaNet today.

The office is not involved in the set-up of the venue, this is handled by the local GOP. Referring to a story published here yesterday, the spokesman acknowledged the office had received calls asking about access. However, he insisted they picked the biggest venue in the county to allow everyone who wants to attend to be able to be inside. “We want all constituents to be able to express their opinion and ask their questions.”

He also had some reassurances for opponents who questioned the vetting of set-up volunteers, stating that while the Representative’s office was not involved in the setup, there would be ample room for everyone.

The town hall date was moved up from April after the healthcare bill came out earlier as expected. The meeting will be live broadcast on KVMR and possibly livestreamed on YubaNet.
