NEVADA CITY, Calif. May 27, 2026 – Nevada County Probation, with participation from the Nevada County District Attorney, Grass Valley Police Department, Truckee Police Department, and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office hosted this morning’s Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The event was designed to bring together officers, probation staff, and community supporters to raise funds and awareness for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Runners, escorted by their fellow law enforcement officers, started at the Rood Center and completed a loop through downtown Nevada City before returning to the government center.
The fundraiser raised $1,540 at publication time. For every $500 raised, a Special Olympics athlete can compete year-round. Contribute here to help support Special Olympics Northern California.
