Nevada City, California – Sheila Cameron, an award-winning Nevada County artist, is thrilled to announce her participation in The Quirk Show 2024, a highly anticipated annual art auction hosted by artist and curator Stephanie Gagos. The event will run from September 23 through October 1, 2024, and Cameron’s auction day is set for Wednesday, September 25, when she will present 12 new original paintings for bidding.

About Sheila Cameron

Sheila Cameron is a well-known figure in the local art scene and community. Many also know her work as a media consultant spearheading the Ready Nevada County campaign and her ongoing consulting with YubaNet. A graduate of Loyola University in Maryland, where she double-majored in Fine Art and Creative Writing, Cameron has built a multifaceted career that spans art, writing, and media production. With experience working in Hollywood for companies such as HBO, Movieline, MTV, and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Project Greenlight, she has gained recognition not only for her creative output but also for her ability to bridge art and pop culture.

Cameron’s “Free Katie” campaign and her online art show, Jerry Saltz Personally Invited Me to Hell, and I’m Going, solidified her as a cultural commentator, using art to explore intersections between celebrity, media, and personal expression. She is also a frequent blogger, reflecting on creativity, family life, her recent breast cancer journey, and current art projects. Her distinctive blend of abstraction and realism explores themes of identity, emotion, and the human experience.
