Nevada City, Calif. November 7, 2017 – As elections are coming up, we are looking to candidates for integrity and honesty. We know money is required to run a campaign. We also know that once in office, congress people spend more than half of their time fundraising for the next election.

The influence of campaign contribution and lobbying crosses all party lines and ideologies. This influence affects our vote, and our voice. It affects what bills are passed, and how our taxes are spent. The bottom line is that the influence of money affects our Democracy.

A panel of our own local experts, a member of the CA Clean Money Campaign, and platform writer for the CA Democratic Party will address the complex and critical issues, and share ways we can work together towards change.

Panelists:

Lorraine Reich–Move To Amend: https://movetoamend.org/
Jerry Silverman–RepresentUS: https://represent.us/
Makenzie Hays–California Democratic Party – Political Reform platform committee member: https://www.cadem.org
