Truckee, Calif. October 12, 2018 – Nevada County and Sierra Business Council (SBC) are working together to develop an Energy Action Plan for the County and they want to hear from you. The goal of the Energy Action Plan is to accelerate energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency projects done by residents, businesses, and public agencies in an effort to reduce energy bills and increase resiliency in the community. Feedback from residents and business owners in the community is essential to the formation of this plan so that the plan accurately reflects the community’s values and unique characteristics.

SBC’s Climate Planning Team and Nevada County invite the public to attend a community workshop on Monday, October 22nd at 6:00pm at Nevada County’s Rood Center, Board Chambers to find out more about the development of the plan as well as to provide input and feedback.

The community is also encouraged to provide feedback through an online survey available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/NevadaCountyEAP.

The public workshop and online survey each offer Nevada County residents and business owners the opportunity to weigh in on barriers as well as strategies and actions the County could pursue to increase energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency in unincorporated Nevada County.

The information collected through the workshop and survey will inform the development of the Energy Action Plan goals, strategies, and implementation actions.

More information on the workshop can be found on the SBC website at www.sierrabusiness.org.
