Nevada County Sheriff Shannan Moon welcomed her staff, their family and friends, and Supervisors Hall, Hoek and Swarthout on Friday in the Board Chambers for a swearing in ceremony for new hires, employee awards, promotions and a life-saving commendation.

Olivia Rodriguez-Spillner – For life-saving measures taken during an accidental shooting at a local firing range. Her quick actions saved the patient from bleeding out from a femoral artery injury, according to the medical professionals at the hospital.
