NEVADA CITY, CA – Calling local child artists – The Sheriff’s annual Holiday Card Contest is back!

Nevada County children, ages 4 – 12, are invited to submit their holiday-inspired artwork to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) for a chance to have their artwork published and transformed into the official 2026 greeting card for the agency with public naming recognition.
The winner will also receive a patrol ride to school as well as a Donuts with Deputies Party for their entire class. Children will enjoy donuts and juice with deputies, learn about law enforcement, and have a meet and greet with Sheriff Shannan Moon.

“I personally look forward to this contest every year and seeing every drawing submitted,” said Sheriff Moon. “The children have continually wowed us with their creativity, wit, and thoughtfulness. The classroom visit and donut party are always a blast, too, and the kids ask the best questions.”
