NEVADA CITY, Calif. September 6, 2019 – The lightning-caused Red Bank Fire near Red Bluff in Tehama County is reported at 6,500 acres this morning.
Access and terrain continue to hamper control efforts with long range spotting observed. Continued structure threat with evacuations warnings in place. Road closures in the area.
A strike team from Nevada County left to join the 650 firefighters assigned to the fire.
Nevada City Engine 5464 with Grass Valley Firefighters is part of Strike Team 4100C to the Red Bank Incident. Crews left at 4:00 am to be in briefing by 7:00 am. The strike team awaits assignment.
Other fire departments providing engines and personnel include, Nevada County Consolidated, Peardale/Chicago Park, Ophir Hill and Higgins Fire. Stay safe everyone!
