GRASS VALLEY, Calif. November 23, 2016 – Nevada Irrigation District General Manager Rem Scherzinger on Monday (Nov. 22) announced the appointment of Monica Reyes as the district’s interim recreation manager.
A Grass Valley resident and 20-year district employee, Reyes succeeds longtime Recreation Manager Peggy Davidson, who is retiring.
Reyes, a graduate of California State University Hayward, moves up from her position as NID’s Customer Account Administrator, where she supervised customer service, meter reading and cashiering.
In her new position, she will oversee recreational activites at Scotts Flat Reservoir; the Orchard Springs, Long Ravine and Peninsula campgrounds at Rollins Reservoir, the district’s dock program at Combie Reservoir and NID’s Upper Division recreational facilities centered around Bowman and Jackson Meadows reservoirs.
With an annual budget of $2.6 million, the NID Recreation Department employs seven, including the manager, three park rangers, two facilities rangers, and a recreation assistant. During the busy summer months, the department hires up to 60 temporary seasonal workers.
“We are pleased to welcome Monica into the NID management team as we move toward the 2017 recreation season,” Scherzinger said.
