March 18, 2019 – The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) has scheduled two community meetings so customers in Nevada and Placer counties can learn more about proposed water rate changes.

Dates:
March 19: 5:30 pm at NID’s Business Office, 1036 West Main Street in Grass Valley.
March 21: 5:30 pm at the Auburn Holiday Inn, 120 Grass Valley Highway in Auburn

The meetings will include a presentation of the Water Rates Cost of Service Study, by consultant group NBS and NID staff. Customers who are not able to attend an in-person community meeting can watch a recording of the presentation from the Feb. 13 Board Meeting here. The PowerPoint presentation used can also be viewed and downloaded directly here.

NID mailed letters to customers that detailed the proposed rate changes and announced a 45-day process period during which customers can comment and file a written protest.

The changes are based on findings of the Water Rate Cost of Service Study, which determined a rate structure to best serve the needs of the District and services it provides, as well as recommendations made by the Water Rates Committee, a 10-member customer-based stakeholder engagement group.
