Hot and dry conditions continuing into the middle of this week. Another hot day on tap for the interior with valley temperatures 100 degrees plus again. Hottest over the northern Sacramento valley with temperatures around 106 degrees. A gradual cooling trend late this week into the weekend.
Discussion
Ridge over Northern California strengthens a little today and 850 mb temperatures do not show much change through Wednesday. Inland temperatures do not look like they will be changing that much through then. Stratus along the coast looks to be minimal as well the next few days.
Thermal belt areas will continue to remain warm at night. Delta breezes will continue to help cool most valley temperatures off at night.
Extended Discussion (Friday through Monday)
Trough deepening over the west coast will help to shift the four corners high east a little and which will lead to some synoptic cooling for the region late this week and into the weekend.
Models continue to push any monsoonal moisture south and east of the forecast area. Moderate flow through the Delta looks to continue each day in the extended period.
