Nevada County Superintendent of Schools race
Last night, Tim Reid conceded the election to John Baggett in a social media post that deserves highlighting for its quasi-nostalgic classiness.
Well, the results are in, and I came up short.
As you can see from this photo, my election night party was spent with a bunch of cows and a Nevada County sunset. Maybe itโs also the sunset on my political career, and thatโs okay.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported this campaign. Thank you to those who donated, put up signs, shared posts, invited me to events, asked thoughtful questions, and most importantly, voted. The support and encouragement over the past several months meant more to me than I can express.
Congratulations to John Baggett on an impressive victory. I had the opportunity to speak with him tonight and personally congratulate him. Nevada County is in good hands moving forward, and I wish him nothing but success as our next County Superintendent of Schools.
While this chapter is ending, my commitment to Nevada Countyโs students is not. I will continue doing what Iโve always done, supporting our schools, our educators, and our young people. Whether itโs through my work in education, community organizations, agriculture, or simply showing up where help is needed, Iโm not going anywhere.
Thank you again for the opportunity, the conversations, the friendships, and the support. It has truly been an honor.
Tim Reid

Three Local Measures
Local measures H and K mostly found favor with voters, Measure J is too close to call.
The three updates provided by the Elections Office were delivered as scheduled and there were no reports of problems. Thanks to all the election staff and temp workers for a smooth election night.
The next update is scheduled for Friday by 4:30 pm.
The current partial results, including the uncontested races, can be found on our Election Night results page.
