Grass Valley, CA — The Nevada Union High School Instrumental Music Program warmly invites the community to its annual Spring Concert and Awards Ceremony, Creatures: A Night of Music Revolving Around the Animal Kingdom, taking place on Thursday, May 21 at 7pm in the Don Baggett Theatre at Nevada Union High School – 11761 Ridge Road, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
This imaginative and engaging performance will take audiences on a musical journey through the animal kingdom, featuring works inspired by mammals of land and sea, birds, reptiles, prehistoric creatures, and even mythical animals. The evening will showcase a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, multicultural, and modern compositions, with selections from renowned composers such as Dave Brubeck and Camille Saint-Saëns.

The concert will feature performances by several of Nevada Union’s outstanding student ensembles, including the Winter Percussion, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band. In addition to the musical program, the evening will include an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding student musicians and honoring graduating seniors for their dedication and achievements.
Under the direction of band director David Fowler, these talented student musicians have worked tirelessly throughout the year to prepare a dynamic program. The community is encouraged to attend and celebrate the hard work, growth, and artistry of these young performers. Your presence not only honors their commitment, but helps sustain and uplift music education in our local schools.
