For the Love of Art Gallery is hosting a unique opportunity for kids 18 years old and under to display their photos during the month of April. “We would like to invite children to take photos and mat or frame them for an exhibit during Photography Month which is being celebrated in April,” stated Lori Humphrey, owner of For the Love of Art in Auburn.

“This event gives children an opportunity to display their art work – to be creative and explore photography while learning about the exhibit process. Creativity is so important in everything we do and is especially important for children. It helps develop both sides of the brain and creates different ways to learn and to express themselves,” continued Humphrey.
Photos can be taken with any camera or phone. Kids can submit up to 5 photos which should be ready for hanging: matted or framed and matted. They should include the title of their work and the sale price if they would like to sell it. All proceeds from the sale will be returned to the artist.
If kids need assistance or have questions, they should contact Lori Humphrey at 530-883-0528. Ready-to-hang photos should be delivered during the last week of March.
Opening receptions will be held on April 5th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at three galleries in Auburn: For the Love of Art, 882 Lincoln Way; For the Love of Photography, 852 Lincoln Way; and General Gomez Art and Event Center, 808 Lincoln Way. Refreshments will be served.
This opportunity is available to kids within the 5-county area participating in Photography Month including Sacramento, Placer, Nevada, Yolo and Eldorado Counties. Photography Month was initiated by Viewpoint Photographic Art Center to focus attention on the importance of photography in our lives and how to improve one’s photography.
