Barking is in the air! Get ready for wagging tails and smiling faces as the Rotary Club of Nevada City hosts its 2nd Annual “Paws and A Cause” Community Event on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Pioneer Park in Nevada City.
This family-friendly celebration brings together animal lovers, local businesses, pet service providers, and rescue organizations for an unforgettable afternoon of community spirit and furry festivities. The event kicks off with an opening parade of pups, showcasing dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Dog (and pals) costumes are encouraged but not required.
“The broad outpouring of support for the first year of Paws and A Cause reflected our community’s love of dogs and animals,” said Pearce Boyer, President of Nevada City Rotary. “We are planning an even bigger, better event this year.”

In the weeks leading up to the Paws and A Cause event, get your pup in the spotlight! Snap a pic with our Paws Photo Pup—at favorite local spots—and share it on social media to enter our Photo Contest.

Lassie lovers — get ready for a dose of nostalgia! We’re thrilled to welcome Jon Provost, the original Timmy from the beloved TV series Lassie, as a special guest. Don’t miss your chance to meet a television legend and lifelong advocate for animals.
